April showers """"
March went out like a lamb but April is making up for it. It seems we are getting the rains that April is most famous for, even so, we have been able to dispatch multiple loads of students. Seeing the many smiling faces lightens up even the dreariest days
Group Jumping!
It's the middle of April and we've had a couple of group organizers working to bring smiles to the faces of others. Cailtlin W. from the Unicef Group at U of T
(http://unicef.sa.utoronto.ca)
had many Tandems lined up while Jamie also brought out 25 of his friends to see why he loves skydiving so much. Jamie's group managed to get all their jumps in while the skies teased us with little blue holes every now and again. Thanks to the group organizers for showing others why we love to jump at Skydive Toronto!
Competitions
Lucas H. will be organizing Style & Accuracy camps for the first weekends of May. This will aid in helping others see what S&A is all about. Practice for Canopy Piloting and Freefly will also be available on those weekends to those wishing to hone their skills. On the first Saturday in May ( 5th ) there will be a meeting for those who are heading to the Nationals. Those competition teams in Canopy Piloting, Style & Freefly should make a note on their calendar to attend this meeting.
SSI Course
The weekend of April 14/15 and into Monday the 16th saw Skydive Toronto hosting a Skydive School Instructor course. Taught by Mario Prevost - CSPA Eastern Canada Representative & Master Learning Facilitator, the course was conducted in the hangar at Skydive Toronto. Completing the course with their newly aquired credentials are: Brian D, Craig M, Marc D, all from Skydive Toronto and Gord Rapedius, from Dunnville. Working towards his Course Conductor rating and assisting Mario with the course was Scott McEown, CSPA Ratings Processor. Congratulations to our newest Instructors !!
Instructor Reviews
Safety is #1 at Skydive Toronto. Annual reviews make sure that all the staff at Skydive Toronto are up to date and familiar with the latest information. Last month saw the Tandem team doing their reviews, this month it's the Instructor teams reviews. Safety is why Skydive Toronto continues to grow each and every year ! The review date is set for April 21st
