Friends hope to bring injured Ontario skydiver home

Peter Kuzawinski, one of Skydive Toronto’s packers and jumpers, recently had a hard landing while jumping in Arizona. He has been left with two broken vertebrae.

Peter underwent surgery, and is recovering well. He has movement and feeling in all of his limbs.

We are organizing a fundraiser to help Peter and his family in whatever way we can. As you can imagine, medical airlift to get Peter home is quite costly.

A bank account has been opened for Peter. The most convenient method of donating money is through email transfers. (If this method is chosen, please send over the password in a separate email then the transfer so that it can be accepted). If you wish to donate by credit card, please call the drop zone, 1800 668 5867.

All details about each donation will remain confidential, unless the donor states in writing (email) that they want to be revealed.

The aim of SchoolBOX is simple: to build dreams and hopes by ‘Making Education Possible’. By doing this, locals are empowered to lift themselves out of poverty. This mission statement of helping people to help themselves is one that we should support because it has a long lasting positive impact. 

We are looking for skydivers to raise funds and awareness for our event.

Here are the details for fundraisers:
Gather a group of friends, or jump on your own. Individuals and teams will be asked to raise money for SchoolBOX through 
speaking with the friends, family, and colleagues.

Cost: $337 per jumper (including a $50 donation to SchoolBOX)

Pre-jump refreshment

Derek Walton, the founder of The Walton Cure for ALS Fund, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and then emigrated to Canada in 1968.  In 2002, Derek was diagnosed with ALS. He then committed himself to raising funds for the ALS Society.  He has contributed tens of thousands of dollars through various methods to the cause.

In 2011, the third annual Jump for PALS event will be taking place at Skydive Toronto Inc.  If you would like to be involved, please contact Derek and his team at braveheart@waltoncure4als.ca.

This is a terrific opportunity for skydivers of all levels and disciplines!!! There is something fun for everyone!!!

Flyers who enjoy 4-way FS; come learn the basics or improve your block techniques with world class athletes, Team Evolution. Freeflyers, from junior to advanced levels, are invited and will be coached by well known VFS/freeflyer Philippe Thibodeau.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE IN BY FEBRUARY 21^ST

For novices, time slots will be available for you on the Saturday and Sunday. Coaching will be provided by PFF & SR Instructor – J-rodd Cole. (Please contact  Jennifer@skydivetoronto.com)
