Derek Walton Jump for ALS Fundraiser

In May 2002, Derek Walton was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a motor neuron disease.  This disease is a rapid, fatal neuromuscular disease that attacks the nerve cells and pathways in the brain and around the spinal cord.  In Canada, approximately 3000 people are diagnosed wirh ALS – over one half million worldwide.

Derek developed the Walton Cure 4 ALS Fund, and has been working towards his goal of finding a cure for this disease.  Since launching the fund in May 2008, they have raised over $100 000 for ALS research.

Last year, 2009, Derek held a fundraiser where he jumped from an airplane at 10 500′ to raise money for the cause, and he is doing it again this year!  His event is set to take off on August 21st 2010 at Skydive Toronto.  He is inviting anyone that would like to donate or to jump for this worthy cause!

If you would like to join the cause and jump for ALS, give our office a call.
